Social Marketing

Social marketing, also known as social media marketing, can strengthen your brand and your market presence, as well as quickly build relationships with new and existing customers.

It is also a great way to distribute content that educates your buyers about what you offer.

One of the most attractive features of social media marketing is the unbelievable viral word-of-mouth marketing that is can generate about your business.

The direct nature of social marketing allows a business to have a two-way dialogue with its customers and prospects.  Because of the ubiquity of social media, Facebook and Twitter in particular, consumers now expect to be able to communicate with the suppliers of the goods and services they want.

Social marketing is not a set it and forget it proposition.  It needs to be nurtured on an ongoing basis (as any relationship does!). So a word to the wise: you need to develop a social media strategy and then consistently execute it to be successful.

It should be noted that it is not imperative that a business have its own website before embracing social media marketing.  However, it is recommended to avoid putting too much reliance on a platform that you do not own.
